Tove Jansson

Tove Jansson (1914 – 2001) was a Swedish-speaking Finnish author, novelist, painter, illustrator and comic strip author, best known for her iconic series the Moomins, a celebration of family and friendship set in the whimsical and serene Moominvalley. For her work as a children's writer Jansson received the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1966.
