We are delighted to present a range of exclusive, never-before-been-available prints from David McKee's iconic picture book Not Now, Bernard.
Bernard's got a problem: he's found a monster in the back garden but his Mum and Dad are just too busy to notice. So Bernard tries to befriend the monster... and that doesn't go quite to plan. David McKee's clever fable is both a warning to neglectful parents and a very funny story about being ignored: in an era where parents are glued to their mobile phones, Not Now, Bernard has never been more apt.
David McKee is one of the world's best known illustrators of picture books, having created classics such as Not Now, Bernard, Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, and Mr Benn, Gladiator. David's work is published in over 50 languages and has sold tens and tens of millions of copies. David was born in Devon and studied at Plymouth Art College. In the early part of his career, McKee regularly drew and sold humorous drawings to magazines and newspapers such as The Times Educational Supplement, Punch and the Reader’s Digest.
The print and frame
The art is printed on Hahnemaühle German Etching paper (310gsm), a conservation-grade high quality archival paper. This heavyweight etching paper has a fine surface texture and is one of the most popular media worldwide for higher quality artwork printing.
The print is framed by hand in Cambridgeshire in the UK, using only European sourced PEFC™ and FSC approved woods. Frames are Fine Art Trade Guild accredited which means they meet strict conservation standards and are built to last for generations to come.
We use Clarity+ glazing which is a high-quality acrylic glass alternative, offering high UV resistance which doesn't yellow over time, is not easily scratched and is safe for use in children's bedrooms.
Your framed print will arrive with D-rings and cord already attached, ready to hang right out of the box.
Including the frame, with mount, the small framed print is 43cm wide and 28cm high. The medium framed print is 59cm wide and 38cm high.
The small print itself is 33cm wide and 18cm high. The medium print is 49cm wide and 28cm high.
