The art

We love this series of Tintin cover posters, in Hergé's distinct ligne claire drawing style, and in the original French as Hergé designed them.

Red Rackham's Treasure (Le Trésor de Rackham le Rouge in French) is the twelfth volume of The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. The story was serialised daily in Le Soir, Belgium's leading francophone newspaper, from February to September 1943 amidst the German occupation of Belgium during World War II. Completing an arc begun in The Secret of the Unicorn, the story tells of young reporter Tintin and his friend Captain Haddock as they launch an expedition to the Caribbean to locate the treasure of the pirate Red Rackham.

The artist

Georges Prosper Remi (1907 – 1983), known by the pen name Hergé, from the French pronunciation of his initials, was a Belgian cartoonist. He is best known for creating The Adventures of Tintin, the series of comic albums which are considered one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century. His works were executed in his distinct ligne claire drawing style and have been widely acclaimed for their clarity of draughtsmanship and meticulous, well-researched plots.

The print and frame

The poster is framed by hand in Cambridgeshire in the UK, using only European sourced PEFC™ and FSC approved woods. Frames are Fine Art Trade Guild accredited which means they meet strict conservation standards and are built to last for generations to come.

We use Clarity+ glazing which is a high-quality acrylic glass alternative, offering high UV resistance which doesn't yellow over time, is not easily scratched and is safe for use in children's bedrooms.

Your framed poster will arrive with D-rings and cord already attached, ready to hang right out of the box.
