THE ART

We are delighted to present a charming collection of exclusive prints from Duncan Beedie's picture book 'The Lumberjack's Beard,' which was Shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards in 2018.

Every day, Jim Hickory the lumberjack heads into the forest with his trusty axe and chops down trees. Unfortunately, all sorts of creatures lose their homes in the process, so Jim gives them a home in his beard – until one day it all just gets too much. Time for Jim to come up with a better solution!

We love these prints featuring big Jim and his bountiful beard, a story with an important message about looking after the world we live in.

THE ARTIST

Duncan Beedie is a children’s author and illustrator from Bristol. Duncan began his career in children's TV as an animator, before branching into design and animation for websites, games and educational apps. Duncan's debut picture book ‘The Bear Who Stared’ was nominated for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2017.

When not busy drawing kung-fu kicking llamas, heavy metal badgers or starey bears, Duncan can be found walking his dog Ivor around a muddy park or losing heavily to his daughter at videogames...!

THE PRINT AND FRAME

The print is framed by hand in Cambridgeshire in the UK, using only European sourced PEFC™ and FSC approved woods. Frames are Fine Art Trade Guild accredited which means they meet strict conservation standards and are built to last for generations to come.

We use Clarity+ glazing which is a high-quality acrylic glass alternative, offering high UV resistance which doesn't yellow over time, is not easily scratched and is safe for use in children's bedrooms.

Your framed print will arrive with D-rings and cord already attached, ready to hang right out of the box.
